NO LIMIT INTERNATIONAL, a non-profit organization based in the US has offered sports equipment to female athletes playing in the women soccer premier league of Cameroon. The equipment donation ceremony occurred on July 28, 2022, in Yaoundé and three teams received the invitation to receive sports bras for their players including Éclair Football of Sa’a, AS Patriotes and AS Fortuna FC. Speaking during the handling over ceremony, the Co-Founder of the Non-Governmental Organization, Ms. Orlyanka Tantchou said the gifts were the result of a partnership with Oiselle, a US based women apparel manufacturer aiming to promote girls’ participation in sports. “I believe that body confidence is important in sports, and it starts with wearing the proper equipment to practice and games. Sports bras are essential for females who want to compete in sports but aren’t accessible to everyone. NO LIMIT INTERNATIONAL wants to change the inequality in sports participation in sub-Saharan Africa by removing barriers that prevent females from engaging in sports for some and playing at their highest level for others” stated Orlyanka Tantchou, Co-Founder NO LIMIT INTERNATIONAL.

Speaking after receiving the materials, Mr. Christian Onana, President of Éclair Football of Sa’a appreciated the NGO gesture and thoughtful act stating “women morphology is not like that of the men so it’s an equipment that will help them feel free as well as boost their confidence and play on the pitch. I want to take this opportunity to thank NO LIMIT INTERNATIONAL for coming to our aid. We are happy and grateful”. Ms. Ange Mapi, a player of AS Patriotes thanked NO LIMIT INTERNATIONAL for thinking about female sports and encouraging soccer players like her to excel on the field “this gift is going to help me move around freely on the soccer field and be motivated to win one for NO LIMIT INTERNATIONAL”. The NGO Co-Founder, Ms Tantchou reassured the audience of their intent and interest to continue the campaign in the coming months by donating more equipment to middle school, high school, and professional female players in a pursuit of gender equality in the sports arena. Advancing gender equality by promoting female’s equal participation in sports is best achieved by removing such barriers.
